Beni Ourain rug (4.7 x 7.11 ft)

Traditionally, Beni Ourain rugs were not intended for decorative use, but used as blankets by Beni Ourain Berber tribes to keep warm in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Because of their functional purpose, they are made from sheep’s wool. These rugs feature minimalist linear patterns, composed of dark brown or black geometric shapes against an off-white field. The wool used to create these rugs is undyed, giving Beni Ourain’s neutral appearance.
